Corporate Transparency Act – Is It Really Dead?

Two years ago, we hosted a webinar on the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) enacted by Congress as part of the Anti-Money Laundering Act of 2020. We learned that the CTA’s goal was to reveal the true owners of opaque legal entities used to launder money. So what has changed? Our expert panelist has agreed to return and let us know if there is anything left for us to do, and if so, what that is and who must still comply. Presented by Daniel P. Stipano, Head of AML/CFT Financial Institutions, Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP. Registration is now open to LSTA members.

This year’s Summer Series will be held in the afternoons for three weeks in July, and all sessions will be offered virtually. The LSTA Summer Series is designed as an introduction to the loan market and includes classes focused on the loan market itself, the provisions found in typical credit agreements, private credit, and direct lending, the secondary trading market, trading and settling loan trades, the LSTA form of emerging business credit agreement, and the regulations impacting the loan market. The Summer Series is ideal for new entrants or those with one or two years of experience in the loan market. We encourage all attendees to purchase the LSTA’s Complete Credit Agreement Guide, the textbook for part of the series.

Dubai Structured Credit Summit

The Inaugural Dubai Structured Credit Summit will attract the largest hedge funds and asset managers from Europe and the U.S. who issue and invest in CLOs seeking to meet local allocators. Topics will range from the outlook for leveraged loan supply amid depressed M & A activity and higher borrowing costs, corporate credit performance amid macro-political and economic volatility, choosing your CLO fund manager and due diligence required, the relative value of investing in CLOs versus other forms of alternative credit, understanding CLO equity’s cousin ‘Significant Risk Transfer’, and the rise of Private Credit CLOs (backed by private market direct loans to middle market companies in the U.S. and Europe). The full-day event is designed to offer a rich array of content and unparalleled networking opportunities for LPs, fund managers, and service providers. Attendees will be engaged with a diverse program featuring keynote addresses, panel discussions, and interactive workshops led by subject matter experts.
