It discussed best practices such as avoiding such gendered terms as “husband” or “wife” in favor of terms like “spouse,” scrutinizing documents for gendered language (such as “man-made” or “gentleman’s agreement”), and using the singular “they” where referring to an individual whose gender is unknown or when discussing a generic person.
