With private loan market investors less versed in loans than those who invest in the broadly syndicated market, more and more operations professionals are needed to bridge the gap. Since negotiations with borrowers are quicker, settlements are expected to occur within shorter time periods. This creates a little more struggle as private credit operations learn to become more efficient. Our panelists described the lack of standardization in this document-driven market and the need for more data transparency, common identifiers, and better tools to address workflow problems. Presented by Andrew Berlin, Vice President, Director of Policy Research, LSTA; Michael Schuster, Managing Director, Brown Brothers Harriman & Co.; Sandra Stulberger, Director, BlackRock; and Lephan Tieu, Vice President, Trade Settlements, Antares at the 2024 Operations Conference in Philadelphia.
